Meet Ryland!

Hello, my name is Ryland Urtnowski, and I'm a sophomore at Grove City College. I'm a local from San Diego, California, and I'm majoring in Biology/Health. I enjoy spending time in nature, and take pleasure in activities including hiking, playing sports, and bodysurfing. Helping people has always been my passion and calling for me, something that began in middle school when I developed the uncommon childhood dream of becoming an orthodontist. Later, I pursued classes that explored a wide range of medical subjects, from medical ethics to hands-on learning in areas such as taping wrist sprains

As a college student, I've become more involved in student projects, including apiary work in the Grove City bee yard. This work involves maintaining honeybee health, studying colony behaviors, testing treatments to improve the well-being of the bee, and many more things.

At Grove City College, I'm also active in several clubs and organizations, including the Christian Medical and Dental Association, Newman Club, Bible Study, Hikes and Trails Group, the GCC Martial Arts Club and other clubs too. Looking ahead, my hope is to become a medical professional and to serve those who may be struggling in life. For now, I'm committed to working hard in my classes and living life with a eudaimonic outlook, because I know God is by my side in life at all times.
