Meet Bethany!

Hi, my name is Bethany Osmond, and I'm a conservation biology major at Grove City College. I love all things nature, so I was very excited when Dr. Farone asked me to join the fall research team! I took her apiculture class in the spring, which grew my interest in honeybees and helped me connect my conservation knowledge to a new area of study. Before I even came to Grove City College, I was interested in the Bee Project, so it's fun to be involved in it!

One of the things I really like about doing research is getting to work with my hands and see what's going on in the hives. From the interactions between bees to the different colors of the nectar, it's also a great way for me to see God's creativity in his creation. I love getting to connect my knowledge of genetics, ecology, and anatomy to the things I see in the hives.

On campus, I am involved in the Impact Climbing Leadership team and the Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society, and I'm planning to get involved with the Wildlife Society chapter once it gets started up. In my free time, I love hiking, rock climbing, listening to music, and hanging out with my roommates. I'm so excited to be a part of the team and learn more about honeybees!
