The weather has been perfect, and the project's research students, a team of volunteers, and a fraternity service project have been making short work of preparing our garden beds to become a pollinator friendly garden. The site has been prepped, and a "bee-shed", a water tank, and fencing are in place. Perennials go in next week!
Plant identification is beginning with the help of a consulting volunteer horticulturist, our in-house botanist, and our plant taxonomy class. Students are and will be enjoying field trips and/or consultations with beekeepers, master gardeners, and conservation organizations.
